MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- A disturbance consisting of a broad field of moisture in the far western Caribbean, just off the east coast of the Yucatan Peninsula, is being identified as a point of possible slow development over the next several days. Because of its close location to land, significant intensification isn't expected to happen over the weekend. The system may drift slightly to the northwest, where chances for future strengthening may increase early next week.
There will be no other impacts from tropical activity this weekend, but we will monitor this wave of moisture very closely heading into next week.
