TALLAHASSEE (WTXL) - Fall officially starts tonight at 10:29 pm ET! The autumnal equinox falls on the day when the sun crosses the equator making the day just as long as the night. This does not happen on the same day each year but rather follows the movement of the equator on the sun's orbit around the sun. Along with the cooler temperatures that we associate with the new season, we will start to see the days get a little bit shorter.
