TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) -- An assembly of local meteorologists and government officials gathered Tuesday night to examine how various agencies and organizations operated before, during, and following the landfall of Hurricane Hermine in the Big Bend last September.

WTXL ABC 27 chief meteorologist Casanova Nurse was part of a three-person panel discussing operational effects of Hermine, along with National Weather Service Tallahassee Office warning coordination meteorologist Mark Wool and state meteorologist Amy Godsey with the Florida Department of Emergency Management.

Aspects of storm preparedness, message distribution and delivery, inter-agency communication and planning, public safety, and response to the hurricane's aftermath were among the topics the panel talked about interactively with the audience.

The joint North Florida Chapter of the American Meteorological Society and the National Weather Association hosted the discussion, with approximately 30 people in attendance in the meteorology building at Florida State University.
