TALLAHASSEE (WTXL) - The area of low pressure near the Bahamas called "Invest 91L" looks a little better defined this morning. It now has a 70% chance of forming into a tropical system by Memorial Day.
Environmental conditions will improve by Friday, increasing its chance to form into a named tropical system. If it does become a tropical depression or storm, it will be given the name "Bonnie." "Alex" formed unusually early in January.
An Air Force Reconnaissance plane will fly into the system later today and further updates will be available by 3 pm.
