(WTXL) — Universal Orlando Resort will temporarily close its theme parks on Sunday.
Officials say the expect to be closed through March, but will "continue to evaluate the situation."
Universal Orlando’s hotels and Universal CityWalk will remain open.
Universal Resort says guests who have booked travel packages or tickets with the resort can call 877-801-9720 for more information.
The news comes after Universal Studios Hollywood announced it too will close its operations on Saturday.
California’s Health Department barred gatherings larger than 250 people for the next couple of weeks. The theme park's administrators said they tentatively plan to reopen on March 28. Universal CityWalk will remain open.
"The health and safety of our team members and guests is always our top priority," Universal said in a statement.
