TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Trial will continue Tuesday for five of the U Club suspects on trial for the murder of Tallahassee man, Hoyt Birge.
Britteny Guthrie took the stand Monday morning. She's charged as an accessory in the murder.
She testified that she and Patrick Berrane went to a Walmart after Birge's death to buy saw blades and tupperware.
Guthrie also said she believes that it was "an accident" that Berrane shot Birge and that "Birge tried to grab the gun and the gun went off."
Last week during testimony, Peter Tourney said Birge was ambushed by the defendants, while their attorneys claim Birge was the aggressor and was planning a robbery.
