HAHAIRA, Ga. (WTXL) - Two Hahira children were air lifted to the hospital after being hit by a truck while walking to school.

Georgia State Patrol says the accident happened around 7:15 a.m. Thursday at the intersection of North Church Street and East Stanfill Street.

Troopers say the brother and sister walked into the road and were hit by the truck driven by Sparks resident Terry Cooper.

The 11-year-old girl was taken to Tallahassee with serious injuries while the 12-year-old boy was being treated in Valdosta with nonlife-threatening injuries.

Troopers say no charges are pending.
