There are no areas of concern in the tropics for us right now. The Gulf of Mexico remains quiet and inactive. Subtropical Storm Melissa has strengthened slightly overnight and may develop into a tropical storm in the next 12 to 24 hours, but with increasing wind shear the system should weaken and become post-tropical within the next 48 hours. Melissa has recently shifted to a more northward track and has max wind speeds of 65 mph. Once again this system is not going to be affecting us.
