SUWANNEE COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) — Troopers say three people were airlifted to the hospital in critical condition after a multi-vehicle crash on US Highway 90 in Suwannee County.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, the accident occurred around 9 p.m. Sunday night on US Highway 90 and 49th Road.

FHP says a Ford F-250 driven by George Green was heading west on US Highway 90.

At the same time, a Ford F-150 driven by Wyatt Snelgrove and a Kia Optima driven by Savannah Slaughter, were heading east on US Highway 90.

Troopers say suddenly Green's vehicle crossed the center line and sideswiped Snelgrove's vehicle.

Green's vehicle then collided with Slaughter's vehicle before overturning.

Due to the severity the crash, authorities had to shut down the highway for several hours for investigation and clean up crews.

All three individuals were airlifted to UF Health in Gainesville.

The crash is currently being investigated by the Florida Highway Patrol and charges are pending.
