THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) - Thomas County drug squad agents said April was a busy month for drug arrests.

Agents said one of their most recent arrests involved two suspects in a traffic stop in which one attempted to hide drugs on her person.

Officials said Kayla Haidary and Corey Powell were arrested after they received a tip that Powell was delivering a large amount of methamphetamine to the area.

Agents said a female deputy searched Haidary and found baggies of meth and marijuana in her undergarments.

The narcotics commander said getting large amounts of drugs off the streets, like in this case, is important.

"We always want to get more because that's always more that's not getting into the hands of users, kids, or a danger to Thomas County residents," said Louis Schofill, Drug Squad Commander.

Haidary was charged with meth and marijuana possession and four counts of drug-related object possession.

Powell also faces possession charges, along with a traffic offense charge.
