BANGOR, ME (WABI/CNN) - A woman in Maine popped a wine cork Thursday to celebrate a century of living.
Florence Beard was the guest of honor for a party at the Westgate Center for Rehabilitation and Alzheimer's Care in Bangor.
Beard turned 100 years old this week.
She called herself a no-nonsense kind of gal, and a wine enthusiast.
"The people have taken me, I think they understand me. They're all nice to me, and if they're not, I go after them," Bear said. “Advice? Don't take any baloney."
She was a restaurant owner in LaGrange and has always served others.
The people at the Westgate Center returned the favor with a party fit for a queen.
