BOSTON (RNN) - Ari Schultz, the 5-year-old heart transplant patient and YouTube sensation, is going home after a long stay at a children’s hospital in Boston.
Schultz has been at Boston Children's Hospital for 189 days and received a heart transplant in March.
His parents recorded a video of them telling Schultz that he would be getting a new heart before he underwent the procedure.
They uploaded his reaction to YouTube, where it would capture the hearts of thousands and garner more than 400,000 views.
On Thursday, the family uploaded a new video of them telling Schultz that he would be going home Friday.
He reacted with a big smile and an overall glow of excitement.
Schultz went through some tough times and setbacks after his heart transplant.
On March 22, he went into cardiac arrest and was placed on life support. He battled through and was taken off life support at the end of March, according to WCVB.
His family said that he loves baseball, and he is seen playing and talking about baseball in the many YouTube videos that the parents have uploaded.
