HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - Police are investigating the death of a child believed to have been left in a hot car.
Madison County Deputy Coroner Tyler Berryhill said the victim is a 2-year-old girl. They have scheduled an autopsy Friday to confirm the cause.
Police said the child was left in the car for a lengthy period of time during the day Thursday. Investigators said a parent was driving the car and, after realizing something was wrong, pulled over outside a business on South Memorial Parkway near Airport Road.
The child was dead in the backseat. Her death has been ruled accidental.
