Wake County, NC (WRAL/CNN) – Kinsley Weaver sure loves the American flag.
The Stars and Stripes is just about the only thing the 5-year-old has on her mind when the family goes anywhere.
"She'll always look for flags," mom Lindsay Weaver said.
As soon as Kinsley sees the flag she’ll break into “The Pledge of Allegiance.” It doesn’t matter where or when or how long it’s been since the last time. When she’s done, she’ll sing a little patriotic song.
I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America …
Kinsley picked up her patriotic chops in preschool. The passion is real.
"I've seen her stop if she sees the flag on TV and put her hand over her heart and say the pledge of allegiance," dad Jonathan Weaver said.
… and to the Republic for which it stands …
For mom and dad, their daughter's devotion has opened their eyes and their minds.
"She starts to ask questions and it gives us an opportunity to explain to her what the flag represents and why we believe we should honor it and show it respect," Weaver said.
