(CNN) - The world's second-largest diamond was bought for $53 million on Monday.
Canada's Lucara Diamond Corporation purchased the more than 1,000-carat gem. The same diamond failed to sale at an auction last year.
The diamond was discovered in 2015 in Botswana, Africa. Experts said it is the biggest diamond found in more than 100 years.
