DETROIT (WDIV/CNN) - A Detroit-area woman is suing Delta Air Lines for $10 million and claiming it could have prevented a man from molesting her on a 2016 flight.
The woman said Christopher Finkley put a hand under her shorts during a Delta connection flight from Myrtle Beach last year. Finkley was sentenced to a week in jail after pleading guilty to simple assault.
The woman said the crew allowed him to roam despite the fact he was previously seen performing a sex act on himself during the flight.
"What happened was simply unacceptable," she said. "I am here standing up, not just for myself, but to make sure that sexual assault on an airplane never happens again to any woman ever."
Delta said Tuesday it is "dismayed" by what happened, but declined to comment on the lawsuit.
ExpressJet Airlines, which flies as a Delta connection and is also being sued, declined to comment.
