(RNN) - A Texas woman complained about Hobby Lobby’s display of “raw-cotton décor” that she said was insensitive in a Facebook post that has gone uber-viral.

The picture of a few vases containing cotton stalks sitting on a shelf and angry, humorous and a few supportive comments have been shared almost 16,000 times with 170,000 reactions.

“This décor is wrong on so many levels,” wrote Daniell Rider of Killeen, TX. “There is nothing decorative about raw cotton, a commodity which was gained at the expense of African-American slaves.

“A little sensitivity goes a long way,” she concluded.

Most reactions have called Rider’s complaint “ridiculous.” One poster said “everyone is offended by something these days,” and another said “Oh, for crying out loud, it’s a plant. Period.”

Conservative websites have helped with the broad circulation of the post, sharing the post with editorial commentary criticizing the post.

Hobby Lobby has not commented.
