HAWKEYE, IA (CNN) - Melanie Trewin Jencks captured an incredible shot of a massive rain shaft on Wednesday afternoon. Resembling a tornado, the phenomenon is a visible column of rain or hail falling from a large cloud base.
“I was both excited and scared, as I wasn’t sure what exactly was happening,” Jencks said.
Jencks had just left her family business and was trying to get home before the storm hit. She snapped the photo with her iPhone.
