MIAMI (WSVN/CNN) – A woman in Florida was terrified after she came home Tuesday after a long day to find company in her toilet.

The woman’s daughter, Giselle Quintero, says her mother saw green and immediately closed the toilet lid on the foot-long iguana, who was lounging in the bowl.

“She’s ready to move. She’s done,” Quintero said.

Quintero’s mom was terrified at the sight of the reptile, so she called in her family, who lives nearby.

“I felt like I was the, you know, Robin in the superhero comic,” the woman’s grandson, Gabriel, said.

The iguana was bigger than he thought it might be, and he didn’t want a bite, scratch or whip of the tail. So, they dialed 911.

Before they removed it, Miami-Dade Fire Rescue temporarily boxed the iguana inside the home.

The family says they were relieved.

“When it’s in your house, it’s not fun, especially when it’s in the toilet and you really have to use the bathroom,” Gabriel said.

Fire Rescue officials say this was a first. They believe the young iguana may have come up through the pipes.
