CAMAS, WA (KOIN/CNN) - Police in Washington state said a woman is behind bars after confessing to a crime of passion.
Emily Javier is charged with trying to kill her boyfriend after she attacked her him with a samurai sword because he allegedly cheated on her.
"We came and looked outside and it quite literally looked like a movie scene when we opened the door," said neighbor, Mary Murray. "The next day we had heard that she had a samurai sword and she had stabbed him multiple times."
Javier called 911 Saturday after she said she stabbed her boyfriend with the sword, according to court documents.
Police found Javier covered in blood and crying.
Javier’s boyfriend of two years was inside the home curled up and bleeding from multiple lacerations, the court documents stated.
She found out her boyfriend was cheating on her after finding a Tinder dating application on his phone, the court documents said.
The boyfriend had scratches on his back and Javier found red hair in the shower drain.
Javier told police that's when she bought a samurai sword and at one point said, "I was trying to kill him for cheating ... That was my purpose."
She began swinging and stabbing him when he fell asleep, Javier told police.
"I think that's crazy, I don't understand why somebody would be that jealous, where that's what they would want to do," Murray said.
The boyfriend suffered critical injuries but neighbors said he is expected to live.
