(RNN) – A diner at a California Denny’s showed her gratitude for two dozen firefighters battling California wildfires by paying for their meal.
Around 25 firefighters were eating at the restaurant after fighting the La Cadena fire in Colton, CA.
The woman paid $405, including a $50 tip.
The Colton Fire Department said she also paid for dessert for the next group of firefighters arriving.
"The waitstaff told the firefighters, but by that time she was already gone," Capt. Tom DeBellis told CNN.
The department has fought more than a dozen fires in the last week. The Colton area is just one of many parts of California under threat of wildfires.
