(CNN) - Women working in the White House earn - on average - 80 cents for every dollar paid to their male colleagues, according to analysis conducted by CNN.

The information used in the analysis came from the White House's annual report to Congress, which was released Friday and contains payroll information for White House staffers.

The report said the average salary among men working in the white house was more than $105,000 a year.

For women, it was more than $84,000.

That's an average gap of nearly $21,000 a year.

The difference in pay between men and women at the White House is wider than the national average.

According to the U.S. Labor Department, American women earn 82 cents for every dollar earned by American men.

So far, the White House has not responded to CNN’s request for a comment.
