(CNN) - Hillary Clinton and Melania Trump may have been in opposite camps in the last presidential election but the two have something in common, commander-in-chief husbands accused of cheating and sexual assault.
The women have now shared an ordeal that few other first ladies have had to publicly endure.
In a "60 Minutes" interview last Sunday, porn star Stormy Daniels said she had sex with President Donald Trump in 2006, about a year after he was married to Melania Trump.
As the interview aired, the first lady was at Mar-a-Lago with her son.
"She's focused on being a mom and is quite enjoying spring break at Mar-a-Lago while working on future projects," her spokeswoman told CNN.
Trump has been spared the relentless criticism that Clinton received, largely from conservatives, for staying with her husband, Bill Clinton, after the Monica Lewinsky scandal.
The former president’s past behavior was a regular target for Donald Trump on the campaign trail as he took aim at Hillary Clinton.
"She's married to a man who is the worst abuser of women in the history of politics," said Trump at a rally.
Trump even invited four of the former president’s accusers to the same debate with Hillary Clinton where he claimed to have "tremendous respect for women."
That claim came right after the infamous "Access Hollywood" tape, whose language Melania Trump called inappropriate but defended.
“I don't know that person that would talk that way and that he would say that kind of stuff in private,” she said of her husband. “I heard many different stuff, boys talk. The way they talk when they grow up and they want to, sometimes show each other ‘oh this and that' and talking about the girls."
Now, after the allegations from Daniels and playmate Karen McDougal, silence from Trump, silence from the first lady and silence from the Clinton critics.
There has also been silence from Hillary Clinton.
What Melania Trump is feeling now is anyone's guess, but she had a stark message the last time she was asked her thoughts on her husband's troubling behavior.
“Don't feel sorry for me. I can handle everything,” she said.
