WADENA, MN (WDAY/CNN) - A Walmart shopper tackled a hungry deer that wandered into the store Tuesday morning probably hunting for a good snack.
The young deer came in through the store’s garden area, said Stephanie Koljonen, a witness who took some photos of the incident.
But the animal met his match in fellow shopper Tom Grasswick of Deer Creek. The deer jumped into Grasswick who quickly determined that he had a weight advantage on the animal.
"It was like somebody slugged me on the side of the head," Grasswick told WDAY. "I figured I was bigger than the deer so I'd win that wrestling match...”
Grasswick wrestled the deer to the ground while others covered the animal’s eyes for a trip outside, and a release into freedom.
