(CNN) - Vice President Mike Pence and his family are grieving the loss of one of their pets - Oreo the cat.
An aide said Oreo was 13 years old and especially close to Pence's youngest daughter, 23-year-old Audrey.
Second lady Karen Pence tweeted several photos of Oreo and wrote "Rest in peace, Oreo. You touched a lot of hearts in your little life."
The Pence's other family pets include another cat named Pickles and a rabbit named Marlon Bundo.
The animals were brought with the family to Washington, DC, from Indianapolis.
