PLAINFIELD, NJ (WCBS/CNN) - A woman looking at her cellphone while walking down a street tripped over an open cellar door and fell into a basement.
Surveillance video showed the 67-year-old woman tumble head first into the basement about six feet below. She suffered serious injuries.
Minutes before she fell, a crew from PSE&G, an energy company, went downstairs through the cellar doors.
Quickly, stunned passersby, the workers in the cellar and a police officer came to the scene.
Soon fire crews removed the woman from the basement on a stretcher.
