KNOXVILLE, TN (WATE/CNN) - Police posted pictures of a sneaky burglar caught inside a Boost Mobile store, and the masked suspect is getting a lot of attention.
Monday morning, Boost Mobile was breached.
"There are four police officers out here watching this animal tear up the store inside, and he's pretty mad inside the store," a dispatcher said.
"We have some window bars at the front and then if something happens, the alarms go off," store owner Jake Nam said. "When I found him, he was bigger than I expected."
Security cameras caught the raccoon breaking in by falling through the roof.
"Big mess, it was a really big mess," Nam said.
The raccoon searched the store for some time.
Nam said he tried everything, even food to coax him back outside.
"But he's not interested. I feel he was so scared," he said.
It took Nam about three hours to finally get the raccoon out the front door to police.
"Nobody's injured. Nothing was lost," he said. "That makes me so happy with our community here."
While the raccoon escaped into the east Knoxville neighborhood and everything's back to business, inventory's being checked.
"If he wants any kind of phone, Android, iPhone from us, definitely think we'll sell the phone to the raccoon, but I'm not sure who's going to be paying," Nam said.
The store owner said he won't be surprised if the masked bandit pays him another visit.
"If any of the raccoons come back again, then, well, I want to look at his ID," Nam said.
