(CNN) - Southern China played host to high drama as rescuers attempted to save a trapped man from floodwater on Wednesday.
Rescuers managed to throw a hose down to the trapped individual.
The trapped man was eventually pulled up and out of the water, but not before a fight for his life.
Southern China has been experiencing record rainfall.
More than 20,000 homes have been damaged and 169,000 people have been displaced as a result of the flooding.
