CHILE (HOST TV/CNN) - A police officer was injured after his horse backed into the popemobile Thursday.
The incident occurred when the officer's horse was spooked by the vehicle and reared into it, throwing the officer to the ground.
Pope Francis, who was en route to Peru, got out of his vehicle and attended to the officer until an ambulance arrived.
The pope offered words of comfort to the officer, The Vatican said in a statement.
