VIDEO: Deputies: Suspect in quadruple homicide appears to have beaten family to death

The suspect named in thequadruple homicide  near Mount Pleasant appears to have beaten four family members to death, according to court documents.

Lovequawn Matthew Shaire Scott, 22, was arrested Saturday and charged with four counts of murder.

Scott refused to sign consent forms and didn't appear for his bond hearing Sunday morning.

"I'm angered that he had the audacity to refuse to come down and face us," Valerie Gilliard-Anthony, a relative said.

Dozens of family members packed the courtroom Sunday as they waited for Scott to appear.

"We are devastated by this act. We're devastated, and this is something I don't think my family will ever recover from," Gilliard-Anthony said.

Several left the room crying and screaming as they demanded justice for the victims.

"Please pray for our family because we have never had nothing like this in our family. Just God knows what we're going through today," Estelle Manigault Grant, a relative said.

The Charleston County Coroner's Office identified the victims as Joseph Manigault, 72; Rose Manigault, 69; Kenya Manigault, 42 and Faith Manigault, 15.

Deputies said the four appeared to have died of blunt-force trauma, according to arrest affidavits.

The Coroner's Office also confirmed that all of the victims are from Mount Pleasant.

Court documents state deputies from the Charleston County Sheriff's Office were notified at 11:30 a.m. that a witness had discovered two dead bodies on the floor of the garage of 2751 Atlanta Drive near Mount Pleasant.

Deputies discovered Scott outside the house with what appeared to be blood on his clothes and shoes, according to arrest affidavits. Deputies said he also had a hand injury.

When law enforcement arrived on scene, they found a man and a woman dead in the garage of the home. Once they went inside, deputies found two more women inside of a bedroom.

The Charleston County Sheriff's Office is still investigating the cause of death.
