(RNN) – Utica College in upstate New York spent most of the day on lockdown after the school received threats from an individual who said that he was armed with a weapon.
Six hours later, the ordeal was over -- no shots fired, classes canceled and authorities still looking for answers.

There is no confirmation of any shots fired on campus, and there are no injuries reported. Law enforcement continues to investigate threat. Local, state, and federal law enforcement are on scene. Campus remains in lock down. Please follow all instruction from law enforcement.

Effective immediately, the lockdown on campus has been lifted. Residential students can return to their residence halls. Commuters, faculty and staff can collect their belongings. Law enforcement will remain on campus this evening and continue the investigation.
