SUTHERLAND SPRINGS, TX (CNN) - Investigators in the Texas church massacre confirm that one of the 26 victims was an unborn child.
While public safety officials did not name the victim, CNN has previously confirmed that deceased victim Crystal Holcombe was pregnant at the time of her death.
District Attorney Audrey Gossett Louis was asked on Tuesday if the number of dead included any unborn children? She responded, “yes.”
When asked if one of the 26 who died was an unborn child, Freeman Martin of the Texas Department of Public Safety said yes and nodded in the affirmative.
In all, 20 other people were wounded on Sunday when a gunman opened fire during a church service.
The gunman was found dead from gunshot wounds inside his vehicle after being chased from the scene by residents.
