COLONIE NY (WTEN/CNN) - Three New York state postal workers were hospitalized Sunday, after encountering hazardous materials.
Authorities said all three employees developed symptoms including a rash, after entering the package room.
The victims said they went into the room at separate times.
EMS officials were alerted, then they called in HAZMAT and decontamination crews.
Other postal workers at the facility were put into quarantine for a short time.
They were released after the incident was investigated.
All three of the affected workers have been released from the hospital.
There is no word on what the hazardous material was, or how it got into the post office.
The location is closed so that it can be thoroughly cleaned before it reopens to the public.
