LAKE COUNTY, FL (WESH/CNN) - Florida State Troopers said someone inside a gray Toyota Camry shot at two people in a Chevrolet Saturday on the Florida Turnpike. Information from the Florida Highway Patrol suggested the shooting stemmed from a road-rage incident.
A 37-year-old man and a 17-year-old girl were inside the car that was hit. Both were grazed by bullets and taken to the hospital with minor injuries. FHP reported several bullet holes on the right side of the car, so the victims’ injuries could have been far worse.
The gunfire shut down some southbound lanes. Investigators are trying to find out what happened moments before the shooting.
Driver Anthony Guglielmi passed the crime scene while traveling home from Boca Raton.
“It’s crazy,” Guglielmi said. “People need to slow down and take their time. Life is too short.”
