NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Tulane University is opening its new "Sport and Social Justice Speaker Series" this week with a movie about the first integrated Little League game.

A news release says the free event Wednesday evening will include a screening and discussion of "Long Time Coming: A 1955 Baseball Story."

The documentary is about Florida's 1955 Little League state championship between the all-black Pensacola Jaycees and the all-white Orlando Kiwanis, and the players' thoughts 60 years later.

Four panelists will discuss the film and take questions from the audience. Panelists include Tulane baseball coach Travis Jewett and former WDSU sports director Ro Brown.

Tulane sports medicine professor Dr. Greg Stewart says the movie shows how sports can help overcome social divisions.
