(CNN) - President Trump is being sued by some of the people he's blocked from his personal twitter account.
A series of individuals argued that they've been blocked just because they've criticized Trump or his policies.
They filed suit Tuesday against the president along with a first amendment rights group.
They group sent a letter to the White House weeks ago demanding access to the @realDonaldTrump Twitter account.
The suit also targets White House press secretary Sean Spicer and White House social media director Dan Scavino.
The attorney behind the suit argued that Trump's Twitter account is a public forum, much like a town hall or an open city council meeting.
He says the First Amendment prohibits the government from excluding people from public forums simply because of their political views.
