LAS VEGAS (KTNV/CNN) - A truck crashed into a Las Vegas apartment building Friday, slamming into a father and his young son.

Neighbors worked quickly to help.

It was a nerve-racking sight to see the truck slowly being removed.

Witnesses said the father and child, along with two workers were almost plowed down by an out-of-control driver.

Some neighbors thought it was an earthquake. An earthquake that a mother had to witness.

Her 5-year-old screaming because of pain or maybe fear. Instinct kicked in for the neighbors.

Miraculously, multiple eyewitnesses said the child only had a few cuts and bruises.

His father, thrown by impact, was injured more severely.

A viewer shared a video of the aftermath, the alleged driver in cuffs.

"When she was inside, she was still hitting the gas, and then she put the truck in reverse," one witness said.

Lonnie McPhereson was one of the people unable to sleep at home Friday night.

"I've never seen nothing like this in my life. Praise God I hope they're all right," McPhereson said.

Authorities are investigating whether the truck's driver was under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Meanwhile, the building's residents are homeless until inspectors say it's safe to go back inside.
