FRANKFURT, Germany (CNN) - Thousands of people were evacuated ahead of a bomb disposal operation Sunday in central Frankfurt, Germany.
Residents were told to leave their homes in the morning ahead of the operation to diffuse a massive World War II bomb.
Police said the 1.4-ton H-C 4000 air mine is a British bomb that was found buried at a construction site Tuesday.
