WEST JORDAN, UT (KUTV/CNN) - Police said a pair of criminals tried to blow up an ATM for the third time.
In surveillance video, the suspect can be seen messing around with the bank machine. When he walks away, flames erupt.
"Three times now they have tried to use improvised explosive devices to explode ATM machines," said Sgt. J.C. Holt, with the West Jordan police.
Holt says detectives think these are the same guys who blew up an ATM earlier this month. A camera caught images of the suspects during the most recent attempt.
Their car is an older Toyota Corolla with chrome wheels and peeling paint. Police said the images are their best chance at finding the bold criminals who've taken explosive measures to try and get money.
"Let us talk to them so we can put a stop to this before somebody gets hurt; it could even be them getting hurt," Holt said.
