(RNN) – Remember your first concert?
For millions of kids, it wasn’t the latest boy group. It was a singing rat and his backup band.
But like most iconic bands eventually do, the Chuck E. Cheese animatronic band is breaking up, according to CBS.
Call it “creative differences.”
The arcade/pizza joint is phasing out live robot music in a handful of restaurants and replacing them with a dance floor where a live Chuck E. Cheese shakes his tail feather with the kids.
"The kids stopped looking at the animatronics years and years ago, and they would wait for the live Chuck E. to come out," Chief Executive Tom Leverton told CBS.
The roll out starts at seven restaurants in Texas and Missouri.
What happens next?
Leverton said the company has a "strong hypothesis" they’ll be benching the animatronic band for good in favor of costumed performers.
RIP childhood.
You'll always live on YouTube.
