HUMBLE, TX (KTRK/CNN) - A Texas family returned home to start cleaning up from Hurricane Harvey, but the first thing they had to remove was a 9-foot alligator.
The gator was hanging out under the dining room table of their once-flooded home, presumably having followed the water.
The family called authorities and the gator was safely removed and placed in a more natural habitat.
Authorities said quite a few animal encounters have been reported as the flood waters recede.
