TRENTON, MI (WDIV/CNN) - Lilyah Tunstull worked hard and saved money all summer to buy a new bicycle.
But on Tuesday, the bike was stolen, and Lilyah and her mom filed a police report. Lilyah, who has multiple learning disabilities and needed the bike to ride to her tutoring classes, was in tears.
Then on Wednesday afternoon, the same two officers who had taken that report returned to Lilyah’s house - with a brand new bike for her.
“I was really happy. I had no tears at all. I wanted to cry, but I had no tears from yesterday,” Lilyah said Wednesday. “But it was no words to describe it, so I was really happy.”
Her mom, Lorita Tagger, praised the local officers who stepped in to help.
“Thank you so much to the Trenton Police Department. You guys are so wonderful,” Tagger said. “This is a wonderful community to live in. You guys always have our best interests at heart.”
