KENT, WA (KIRO/CNN) - A carjacking suspect in Washington was caught on camera clinging to the door of an SUV as it sped off down a road.
It is a video that has now been seen around the world, and it happened last Wednesday night.
Eyewitness Sahr Moiwo, who posted the footage online, said a friend's aunt shot the video.
She was sitting in her vehicle, waiting to turn onto another street, when she saw the man holding on to a moving car.
Even when the car stopped, the suspect was still trying to get the driver to get out, but the driver took off again with him still holding on.
"I thought that maybe like he pissed off his wife or something like that and she was driving off without him," Moiwo said, unsuspecting that this was an attempted carjacking.
In fact, that was just one of several cars the man allegedly tried to steal last Wednesday.
A car was parked in a driveway when the suspect punched the driver, but the driver pushed him with his feet.
The would-be thief then ran away.
The man never did get a car that night, but what happened to him when he tried to steal one driver's car is now infamous.
The driver was treated for his injuries.
Police said he was later taken into custody.
