DAVENPORT, IA (WHBF/CNN) - A police officer has been hospitalized on Monday after being injured in an accident involving a stolen trash truck.
A stalking investigation prompted two suspects to flee police in a car. One suspect was apprehended when the car crashed into a ditch, WHBF said.
The other suspect took over a nearby trash truck and a police chase ensued.
The injured officer was putting out road hazards to stop the suspect when the police vehicle was hit by the garbage truck.
The suspect was taken into custody after the truck ran into a ditch.
