SCHERTZ, TX (KABB/WOAI/CNN) - In Texas, a 7-year-old boy was accidentally fatally shot in a gun battle between a woman and Bexar County sheriff's deputies.
Authorities say the deputies were responding to reports of a stolen vehicle, and a woman with several felony warrants out for her.
Police chased her to a trailer park where she tried to break into random homes. On a porch, she exchanged fire with four deputies. The woman was hit and died at the scene.
One of the bullets struck and killed a boy inside one of the trailers. Police say the suspect had no connection to the boy or the home he lived in.
Authorities say the deputies are on administrative leave and are cooperating with the investigation.
