(CNN) - A new study indicates that India may emit the most sulfur dioxide in the world.
The study was done by researchers at NASA and the University of Maryland.
It found that over the last decade, India's sulfur dioxide emissions increased by 50 percent.
Meanwhile, China's fell by 75 percent over the same period.
Sulfur dioxide is mostly produced when coal is burned to generate electricity.
The air pollutant causes acid rain, haze and many other health-related problems.
