(CNN) - According to a new study from creditcards.com, consumers in Southern cities have the highest credit card debt burden in the Nation.
High debt burden occurs when credit card balances are high and earnings are average or below average.
The study measured average credit card debt compared with median income in the Nation's 25 largest metro areas.
The research found that San Antonio, Texas carried the heaviest credit card debt burden.
Miami was number two, followed by Houston, Los Angeles, and Dallas.
The study identified Seattle as the city with the lowest credit card debt burden.
