(CNN) - It may or may not surprise you that most movie critics are white men.
This is according to a new study by University of Southern California's Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism.
They only looked at critics who are currently employed by professional print, broadcast or online publications.
The school says white critics wrote 82 percent of the reviews of the top 100-grossing films of 2017, and 78 percent of the critics were men.
USC Annenberg has been taking a close look at Hollywood inequality for several years
The school has published several studies documenting the lack of representation of women and minorities in major studio movies, Grammy nominees, and speaking characters in top television shows.
