OAKLAND, IA (KETV/CNN) - A school bus driver and a student in were killed early Tuesday when a bus caught fire.
Police in Oakland, about 40 miles east of Omaha, NE, said the bus driver backed out of a home's driveway and into a ditch. That's when the bus caught fire.
The homeowner, who is also the parent of the child on the bus, called 911 but said the bus was fully engulfed by the time crews arrived.
No other people were on the bus at the time. Fire officials are investigating.
