(CNN) - A country known for guzzling tea has just become home to the world's largest Starbucks.
It's part of a new line of upscale shops the company is rolling out around the world.
At the 30,000-square-foot store, the beans are roasted on site and the coffee is meant to be an experience.
But, if you'd rather have tea, you can get that too. It’s brewed or on tap.
China is critical for Starbucks. It is the company's fastest growing market and they are expanding rapidly. A new Starbucks store opens about every 15 hours.
Chinese are usually less hooked on coffee than their American counterparts, but for the growing middle class, Starbucks is still viewed as an attractive aspirational brand.
And Starbucks is playing to that image with this new shop in Shanghai.
But the store won’t retain its title for long.
The company has already has plans to open an even bigger store in Chicago in 2019.
